Prepare for
|
winter!
|
This
is a good time of year to prepare your grow room, garden system
and plants for the upcoming season.
Prevention
and early detection are the key!
Clean, healthy plants are more resistant to disease and more capable
of recovering from damage caused by insects or infections.
- Disassemble hydroponic units and wash with a solution
of 1/4 cup bleach in a gallon of water, rinse thoroughly with
fresh water.
- Spray walls, floors, ceiling and other surfaces with
Virkon, no rinsing necessary.
- Remove any fallen leaves or other debris as
they attract and shelter insects. They may also serve as a carrier
of mold and mildew spores fungi and diseases.
- Inspect each plant often for signs of infestation.
- Check electricity to make sure your lights, timers,
pumps, fans, etc. will be up and running when required.
- Calibrate your testing equipment. pH pens and meters
EC/ppm testers should be tested for accuracy.
- Make sure any buffers you use are fresh.
- Remember the 8 growth enhancing factors of your grow
room:
- Light
- Water
- Nutrient
- pH
- Co2
- Oxygen
- Temperature
- Humidity
Keep these in check
for a successful winter! |
