At Root Pouch, we were practically born with dirt under our fingernails. We spent many long and happy years in the horticulture industry, working with nurseries, growers and retail giants such as Home Depot. And when you are passionate about gardening, it’s a small step from wanting to keep your garden green and healthy to wanting to keep the whole earth that way. That’s why we began looking at ways to replace traditional plastic plant pots used in gardening and landscaping. We saw millions of plastic pots being used. Each one required the consumption of more oil and petroleum resources to create—and each one ended up in our landfills.

We began exploring alternatives to plastic pots, and hit on a magic formula that turned plastic bottles into a versatile, geotextile material that keeps plants healthy by letting excess water drain and allowing roots to breathe and grow.

Voila! Discarded plastic is transformed into innovative, eco friendly gardening products.

Today, Root Pouch offers a range of sustainable gardening products made from a patented mix of recycled water bottles and natural recycled materials. Not one drop of new oil, petroleum or fossil fuel is used in their creation.
