Preparing for winter!

 

This is a good time of year to prepare your grow room, garden system and plants for the upcoming season.

Prevention and early detection are the key!
Clean, healthy plants are more resistant to disease and more capable of recovering from damage caused by insects or infections.

  1. Disassemble hydroponic units and wash with a solution of 1/4 cup bleach in a gallon of water, rinse thoroughly with fresh water.
  2. Spray walls, floors, ceiling and other surfaces with Virkon, no rinsing necessary.
  3. Remove any fallen leaves or other debris as they attract and shelter insects. They may also serve as a carrier of mold and mildew spores fungi and diseases.
  4. Inspect each plant often for signs of infestation.
  5. Check electricity to make sure your lights, timers, pumps, fans, etc. will be up and running when required.
  6. Calibrate your testing equipment. pH pens and meters EC/ppm testers should be tested for accuracy.
  7. Make sure any buffers you use are fresh.

  • Light
  • Water
  • Nutrient
  • pH
  • Co2
  • Oxygen
  • Temperature
  • Humidity
