How
to become a distributor
Hydroponics
is a growing market (no pun intended)
Sales of garden materials and equipment
in Canada have virtually doubled over the last decade. The growth
is predicted to continue by as much as 52% over the next 10
years!
Gardening consumers are well-educated and well-employed. Recently
compiled statistics show 28% have annual household incomes over
$75,000 and 51% have incomes over $50,000.
Canada is second only to Holland, for glass house vegetable
production. Hydroponics is already used extensively in Canada,
for commercial greenhouse vegetable production.
Why
Homegrown
Homegrown Halide and
Hydroponics Inc. was established in 1985 to meet the growing
demand of the conscientious consumer and the large number of
hydroponic enthusiasts in Ontario. Now, with 4 Homegrown locations
and 16 distributors, Homegrown Hydroponics has evolved into
a dynamic company.
Homegrown is the leading
hydroponic company in Ontario, perhaps even Canada since there
are no other associations with that many locations in the country.
Representing 21 hydroponic stores, Homegrown
is able to negotiate the best prices
possible with suppliers of quality top name products.
Almost all of the available hydroponic systems are being manufactured
by Homegrown, again ensuring the best price possible.
We advertise
Homegrown Hydroponics and the toll-free
1-800 number (US / Canada) on major
Ontario radio and tv stations (e.g., Q107, 102.1
The Edge, City TV, NewVR) in the leading
Hydroponic magazines (e.g., Growing Edge, Practical
Hydroponics) and in the Ontario Yellow pages. Customers calling
this number are being directed to the store in their area. Our
distributors are not charged for this service.
Your
luggage
A Homegrown distributor
stocks only Homegrown products.
The range of these products is expanded in collaboration with
our distributors. This means that the absolute minimum of
accounting and administration is required since the distributor
only has to deal with one company.
A Homegrown distributor
has a storefront devoted entirely
to Hydroponics with a minimum
size of 1000 feet to 1200 feet. The initial
stock necessary
amounts to $ 30.000.
There is no
franchise fee whatsoever. Also, we dont charge
for administration costs.
Every Homegrown distributor
has exclusive territory rights.
This means that we dont have competition among the Homegrown
stores. And since Homegrown is the largest Hydroponic company
in Ontario we hardly have competition at all.
Homegrown Hydroponics
has 10 years of growing experience.
This combined with the knowledge of our distributors creates
a referral network for questions regarding hydroponics.
Also, we provide free
technical advice,
business advice and support.
Seminars
are being held on a regular basis to introduce new products,
to discuss the latest developments in the market and in hydroponics.
We keep on the leading
edge of technology
in the industry, abreast of all new developments.
Lettering for a storefront
sign and point of purchase signs
are being manufactured by Homegrown and are provided
free of charge.
Our advertising department
also assists distributors advertising on their local market
with advice and by providing our Homegrown radio jingle and
the tv commercial.
Last but not least,
Homegrown provides distributors with the full colour catalogue,
suggested retail price lists and garden instructions free of
charge.
Homegrown has developed
a broad and reliable service package.
Please
note that we will not start new distributorships in the areas
already covered.
Currently we are encouraging people in the Parry Sound and North
Bay area to open a hydroponic outlet. The information you received
here is the same information we would send you by regular mail.
