Lettuce is very fast growing and works very well with hydroponics. Our best results have been found using Ebb & Flow system with rockwool cubes.
Good results have also been found for hydroponics lettuce using NFT or deep water culture techniques.

If you would prefer a pre made nutrient solution, we suggest using Dutch Nutrient Formula Gro A & B
For enhanced leaf size, try using DNF Veg Fortifier and DNF Enhance mixed with your base nutrient solution.
Lettuce grows fairly quickly so starting plants from seed is your best bet. Success is dependent on choosing the right variety to grow. We have found Salina butterhead lettuce grows well hydroponically. But proper lighting is required just like any hydroponics garden. Lettuce is a cool crop and prefers media to be slightly cooler than most crops for germination. Since it is a cool crop, proper ventilation is important so the crop will not bolt or stretch.
