Answers

Would you have the basic recipe for hydroponics?

JackYes, we have basic recipes at: Nutrient Mixing Directions

I'm going on vacation. Is it okay to not fertilize for one to two weeks?

JackYou can leach the plants for one day with no ill effects. This          would entail running straight pH balanced water through the          growing medium for a day. You can simply fill your reservoir          with the pH balanced water if your garden is automated. A          good leach is healthy for your plants monthly.

We were told we need a meter for the solution besides the ph one. Can you help us?

JackThe meter for the solution is a 'dissolved solids' meter. This          is called an EC (electric conductivity) meter or pen. It          measures the strength of the nutrient solution. It is important          for large systems and Ebb & Flow tables. If you have a very          small system and change the nutrient solution weekly you may          get away without it.

How often should you change the nutrient solution to prevent toxic salt build up?

JackNutrient solutions should be changed every week.

Does chlorinated water effect the growth of plants?

JackYes, chlorinated water effects plants. The amount present in          most city water supplies is not harmful to plants. It may brown          the leaf tips. Letting water sit over night is usually enough to          dissipate the chlorine. Most people don't bother.

Can we use vinegar to control the pH level of our nutrient solution?

JackVinegar will lower the pH for a short period of time only, it is          not stable or beneficial to the plant.

How many gallons of nutrient can your 6-pack produce?

JackOur 6 pack produces approximately 200 gallons.

How many liters of water will one of your hydroponics nutrient  bottle produce?

JackOur A & B Nutrient will make a total of 800 litres of mixed          nutrient solution.

Do the minerals in the nutrient solutions only make the plants grow, or are there provisions to supply the plants with all the minerals WE need to grow after eating them?

JackThere are seventeen mineral elements that are essential to          plant growth which are present in the nutrient solution. Please          see: info about nutrients and Nutrient Mixing Directions
We also recommend foliar feeding with a kelp based spray          such as: Ultra Gro Foliar Spray
These products ensure that small amounts of tens of elements          are supplied to your produce.

  • Vine ripened, hydroponically grown produce tastes superior and is nutritionally sound.
  • In hydroponics we eliminate consumption of artificial ripening agents and pesticides used on field grown produce.
  • Regular nutrient testing ensures all elements are present in their desired concentrations. Unwanted build ups of undesirable nutrient concentrations, such as nitrites, can be avoided.
